Terms of conditions

1. Registration / sign on

The registration / sign on to participate in events (conferences, seminars, courses etc.) of the German Chapter of the ACFE e.V. must be conducted via the event module of the ACFE.de homepage or the event model of the member portal (German: Mitgliederportal) of the German Chapter of the ACFE e.V.

The participant receives an electronically generated confirmation via email.

In the course of online registration / sign on the participant’s name and the exact invoice address of the payer has to be provided.

2. Terms of payment

In case of fee-based events the fee have to be paid within 14 days after invoice date, latest until the beginning of the first event day.

The participant receives an invoice that have to be paid citing the respective correct invoice number.

3. Withdrawal / sign off

In case of fee-based events a withdrawal / sign off will be accepted until five calendar days prior to the beginning of the first event day. Each withdrawal / sign off must be declared in writing. The receipt date at the German Chapter of the ACFE e.V. shall be decisive. A withdrawal / sign off in due time creates no costs to the participant.

If withdrawal / sign off is received between the 5th calendar day prior to the beginning of the first event day and the beginning of the first event day an administration fee amounting to 75 EUR will be charged.

If withdrawal / sign off is received later than the beginning of the first event day the full amount of event fee will be charged.

Otherwise, the non-utilization of individual event hours does not authorize to reduce the original invoice amount.

Providing a substitute participant is possible.

Free-of-charge events remain unaffected by this regulation.

3a. Special conditions for "CFE Exam Review Course"

In case of the CFE Exam Review Course, the invoicing and payment processing is conducted by the ACFE authorized trainer – not by the German Chapter of the ACFE e.V.

A free-of-charge withdrawal / sign off of the contract is not possible after receipt of the first course materials.

In case of withdrawal /sign off after receipt of the first course materials proportionate costs of the course material as well as fees for exam registration with the ACFE USA will be charged by the ACFE authorized trainer.

You also accept that your application information will be sent to the ACFE USA, which stores your personal data in the U.S. to provide member services and fulfill transactions requested by you. 4. Cancelation of events

In case of insufficient participation or other important reasons, the German Chapter of the ACFE e.V. is entitled to cancel the event.

In case of fee-based events, already received fees will be paid back. Any further claims are excluded.

Changing speakers / trainers, the event location or the event program / agenda do not entitle the participant to withdraw / sign off or of any deduction or discount.

5. Liability

The German Chapter of the ACFE e.V. is not liable in any way for accidents or damages, loss or theft of objects or valuables brought to the event.

Furthermore, the legal regulations apply.

6. Copyright

All advertising and event materials may only be used or duplicated with the consent of the German Chapter of the ACFE e.V.

7. Data protection / privacy

The participant declares his / her agreement to the automated handling and processing of his / her personal date for the purpose of event processing as well as subsequent receipt of information. Personal data is handled and processed confidentially.

With regard to the German Federal Data Protection Act, the German Chapter of the ACFE e.V. hereby explicitly points out that with your registration / sign on to an event you declare your agreement to receive further information about the German Chapter of the ACFE e.V. as well as about events and news.

8. Terms of registration and participation

With your registration to an event you accept these general terms of conditions of the German Chapter of the ACFE e.V.

This includes also additional special terms of conditions when provided with the event advertising.

9. Additional agreements

Additional agreements require written form to be effective.

10. Severability clause

Should individual terms of this contract be or become ineffective, this will not affect the remaining terms of this contract. In this case, the parties to the contract pledge to replace the ineffective term with another which most closely reflects the intended economic purpose of the original term. The corresponding applies if any terms are revealed to be incomplete.
